Best Cinematography for GUILLERMO NAVARRO, AMC/ASC
The 79th Oscars edition has announced this year's winners during its ceremony at Los Angeles ( USA ), on February 25. Best Cinematography award was granted to GUILLERMO NAVARRO, AMC/ASC by El Laberinto del Fauno / Pan's Labyrinth that has also won Achievement in Art Direction (Art Direction: Eugenio Caballero; Set Decoration: Pilar Revuelta ) and Achievement in Makeup (David Martí and Montse Ribé ). German production, The Lives of Others has won Best Foreign Language Film of the Year award. Congratulations to NAVARRO.

El Laberinto del Fauno directed by Guillermo del Toro has granted several important nominations and awards to Cinematographer
GUILLERMO NAVARRO both in Europe and USA. In Europe , he was awarded by Goya Awards ( Spain ), Cinema Writers Circle Awards ( Spain ) and Camerimage ( Poland ); in the USA by Boston Society of Film Critics Awards, Florida Film Critics Circle Awards, New York Film Critics Circle Awards and Independent Spirit Awards. He was also a BAFTA Awrads (UK) nominated.
El Laberinto del Fauno is his first awarded film. Maybe it's fair to say that 2006 has been a good year to NAVARRO… NAVARRO has worked previously with director del Toro in
Cronos (1993),
El Espinazo del Diablo/ The Devil's Backbone (2001) and
Hellboy (2004). Right now, they're working on
Hellboy 2: The Golden Army (2008).




GUILLERMO NAVARRO (México) started his career in México, in 1973. He works for the first time in the USA for television, in 1993. With Robert Rodriguez
Desperado (1995) he does his first feature film and then again with Rodriguez ,
From Dusk Till Dawn (1996). In 1997 he shoots visually demanding title
Spawn (1997). Quentin Tarantino chooses him for his
Jackie Brown (1997) feature. A few popular titles follow (
Stuart Little (1999),
Spy Kids (2001)) and also a new collaboration with del Toro (
El Espinazo del Diablo/ The Devil's Backbone (2001)). Another comic adaptation to screen happens, after
