"DARK ROOM"
White Lantern Films
Director: Rob Brown
Producer: Adam J. Merrifield
S16mm - 1.85

This is the story of a war photographer and her feelings and reactions towards some pictures she has taken at war zone.

Shot entirely on Kodak Vision 2 7218 rated at 320 ASA.

Produced by BAFTA nominated White Lantern Films and directed by award winning director Rob Brown, this project had all the ingredients to become a great collaboration.
It was also a delight to work with the very talented Lara Belmont.

The majority of the shots involved filming at very low light conditions on a dark room with red lights.
When putting red gels on lights, the film emulsion would
only react to the red layer of the negative, resulting in a very soft picture, with almost no detail.

To avoid that, I punched some holes in the gels to let some of the white light pass through
and therefore the blue and green layers of the emulsion would also react to light giving a sharper picture.
The director was very pleased with the results.
